This one takes a stock ticker in chat, pulls a live candlestick chart with Bollinger Bands, RSI and volume, and has an AI vision model read the chart and reply with a technical analysis.
Problems
Reading a chart properly meant knowing what to look for in the bands, the RSI, and the volume, then writing it up in a way that actually made sense to whoever asked. Not everyone on the team could do that on demand.
Solutions
We built an n8n agent that takes a message, works out which ticker is being asked about, and calls the chart img API to generate a chart image with Bollinger Bands, RSI and volume indicators already plotted. That image goes to a vision model that reads the chart and writes up its analysis, and the agent sends the response straight back in chat.
Final Thoughts
Letting the chart img API do the plotting means the agent never has to guess at indicator values, it's reading the same chart a trader would actually look at. That keeps the analysis grounded in something real instead of a text description of the numbers.
