AI Gmail Assistant with Auto Reply and Smart Labels
N8N
Project's Category
Intro
This one reads incoming Gmail messages and handles most of the admin before a human even opens the inbox. It drafts a reply in the user's own voice, sorts the email into the right label, pulls out attachments, and pings Telegram if something looks urgent.
Problems
The client was drowning in email. Replying to routine messages, sorting them into folders, and catching the genuinely urgent ones buried in a busy inbox was eating most of their morning.
Solutions
We built an n8n workflow that triggers on every new Gmail message. It pulls the full thread and existing labels, then runs the content through an AI assessment step that decides how to reply in the sender's own tone and creates a draft rather than sending automatically. Attachments get pulled out and filed straight into Google Drive. If the assessment flags something urgent, a Telegram alert goes out right away, and the email gets auto labeled based on what the AI decided it actually is.
Final Thoughts
Drafting instead of auto sending is the right call here. The AI gets the tone close, but a human still reads it before it goes out, and that matters a lot more for email than it would for something like a Slack bot.
