JSON to Airtable Record Matching and Reconciliation Engine
Make
Project's Category
Intro
This one takes incoming JSON data and checks it against Airtable, sorting out what already matches from what doesn't, then packaging each side differently.
Problems
Comparing a batch of incoming data against what was already sitting in Airtable meant manually checking each item, deciding if it matched an existing record, and compiling the results into something usable. At any real volume that stopped being something a person could keep up with.
Solutions
We built a Make scenario that parses the incoming JSON, sets up the variables it needs, and searches Airtable for matching records. It iterates through the results and routes each one through a Check to Match condition. Matches get aggregated into an array for downstream use, while everything else gets rolled into a text summary through a second aggregator.
Final Thoughts
Splitting matched and unmatched records into two different output shapes, an array versus a text block, means each side can go straight into whatever needs it next without another transformation step in between.
